The Ossatura research facility and archive advances the ancient practice of casting into the future, building upon its ancient origins and evolution at Cosanti, where Paolo Soleri transformed it into experimental art and architecture. This project extends that legacy by integrating freeze casting, an innovative process for creating porous ceramics, metals, and composites with sustainable and high-performance applications. The facility is both a research hub and a fabrication space, designed to push the boundaries of material science while respecting the experimental ethos of Cosanti. By bridging historical craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology, Ossatura redefines casting as a tool for the next generation of architectural and material innovation.
